About Me
My name is Brandon. I’m a software developer at Optoro. I work primarily with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript, but I enjoy dabbling with other languages and frameworks in my spare time. Before I became a developer, I spent several years working in law enforcement and public safety. I was a cop (and before that a firefighter) who left the government in hopes of turning my lifelong computer hobby into a full-time job. Thankfully, I was successful!
I was originally a self-taught programmer, but for some reason I decided to go back to school so that I could pay too much money for a piece of paper validating my career choice. I find that my unique professional background allows me to bring a fresh perspective to software development, and I enjoy sharing my experiences with others when given the opportunity.
